These committees bring the mission of the Chamber to life and initiate much of the ground work for the community improvement we enjoy! The Ambassadors committee is the goodwill arm of the Chamber, dedicated to fostering strong connections within the greater Kirksville area. Ambassadors welcome new and expanding businesses, celebrate milestones such as ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and anniversaries, and volunteer at Chamber events like Business After Hours. The Ambassadors Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

The Community and Economic Development Committee creates long-range plans and goals for the Chamber of Commerce. It supports the efforts of the Job Fair and Governmental Affairs committees. Working in conjunctions with the Kirksville Regional Economic Development Inc, to support industry appreciation efforts, and any economic development efforts of both the City of Kirksville and Adair County, this committee seeks to help the area thrive economically. Meetings are held at 8:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of every other month.
The Golf Tournament is held annually in August and brings businesses together for a full day out on the green! Planning involves securing sponsorships and attendance prizes for the tournament. Meetings for this committee start in March.
The Governmental Affairs Committee keeps the membership and community informed of civic issues at the city, county, and state levels. The Committee hosts The Government In Focus (TGIF) Seminars, local Candidate forums, and participates in Kirksville Day at the Capitol. The Governmental Affairs Committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 9:00 am between the months of September and May.
KVYP committee is a network of young professionals ages 21 to 40 in the Kirksville area. This group works to connect professionals, engage in community service, and provide professional development in order to recruit and retain talent in Kirksville. KVYP meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m.
The Merchants Committee organizes promotional programs and events designed to increase business throughout Kirksville and keep shopping dollars local. This committee develops programs that bring business to the retailers and restaurants in the Kirksville area. Art Walk, the Student Welcome, and Shop Local are all sponsored by this committee. Meetings are at 8:00 am on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, February through November.
With the assistance of the Kirksville Job Center, the NEMO Job Fair committee has taken the lead in promoting a strong workforce. Each year they host two Job Fair events where job seekers can meet employers. In addition, the committee recently added targeted hiring events that focus on a particular industry, such as healthcare or retail. This committee meets monthly.
