Kirksville Leadership Institute

Mission

The purpose of the Kirksville Leadership Institute is to build strong, competent leadership for the Kirksville area, motivate emerging and existing leaders, and develop each participant’s potential for community leadership and decision-making by exposing them to the realities, opportunities, and challenges within our community.

About the Program

The Kirksville Leadership Institute is comprised of a series of full-day seminars, providing information and discussion opportunities on a variety of issues facing our community. Programs include presentations about government, healthcare, economic development, education, social services, tourism, agriculture, and law enforcement. The class runs annually from March to November. Throughout the duration of the class, participants are expected to perform a set number of hours of community service, engage with the community via Chamber events, and conduct a class project addressing at least one community need. Class projects may vary greatly but always make a lasting impact.

Recruitment efforts for Kirksville Leadership Institute generally begin around the first of each calendar year and continue through mid-March.

To request an invitation to the next KLI Recruitment Event, please contact the Kirksville Chamber office by sending an email to info@kirksvillechamber.com and requesting to be added to the next year's prospect list.
